Horizon Burglary suspects blamed for SWAT standoff, police say

The three people involved in a SWAT standoff Thursday in Northeast El Paso were arrested in connection with Burglary of Habitation in Horizon City, police said.

On Tuesday, Jose Valdez, 35; Miranda Garrett, 20; and Angel Garcia, 21, allegedly stole cash, an i-Pod, and several firearms in the 15000 Block of Glendive.

Horizon City Police Department worked with ATF to find the suspects.

An investigation led to the suspects in the 7600 Block of Clio St. El Paso. The suspects barricaded themselves within the residence yesterday.

The FBI negotiation team assisted with the barricade and the suspects came forward with no issues.

ATF executed a search warrant at the residence, recovering four firearms.

The three have been charged with Engaging in Organized Criminal Activity, a First Degree Felony. Their bond is set at $100,000.
