Police looking for burglary suspect who evaded officers in Far East El Paso
El Paso Police set up a four block perimeter near Tierra Rica and Tierra Este in order to look for a burglary suspect.
ABC-7 has learned one suspect is already in custody. The investigation began Friday afternoon when a woman called police to report two men were burglarizing her home.
The suspect on the loose allegedly pointed a gun at the officers pursuing him on foot. During the foot pursuit, the suspect allegedly threw the gun away. The weapon was later recovered by police.
The suspect is described as an Hispanic man in his early 20s. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue shirt and a black bandana, police said.
A helicopter crew with the Texas Department of Public Safety and a police K-9 unit were called to the scene to help officers find the suspect.
Police were searching vehicles parked in the neighborhood with the hope of finding the suspect. The search will be called off at approximately 6:30 pm.
