Search and Rescue team rescues five hikers from mountain ridge

Members of the El Paso Fire Department along with the Combined Search and Rescue team were called to the Franklin Mountains near McKelligon Canyon Sunday night after a passerby spotted flashing lights near a mountain ridge and called 9-1-1 for help.

First responders were able to make visual contact with the hikers and determined they needed assistance in climbing down.
COMSAR team members reached the 5 stranded hikers shortly before ten pm and helped rehydrate them because they had very little water

The five hikers lead by the COMSAR team got down the mountain by 11pm. The five hikers ages, 16,18,20, 21 and 22 all refused transport to a local hospital
