LCPD: Man raped 4-year-old boy, threatened to harm boy if he told anyone
Las Cruces police arrested a man accused of sexually assaulting a 4-year-old boy and threatening to harm the child if he told anyone.
Police said Justin S. Gillette, 22, is charged with three first-degree felony counts of criminal sexual penetration of a minor and one third-degree felony count of bribery of a witness.
Investigators said the boy, now seven years old, told his mother about the alleged sexual assaults in April 2017. The boy’s mother did not report the allegations to authorities until May, police said.
Investigators learned Gillette allegedly forced the boy to watch pornographic videos and sexually assaulted him at least three times, police said.
Gillette allegedly threatened to harm the boy if he told anyone, police officials added.
Police arrested Gillette September 12, 2017 and booked him into the Dona Ana County Detention Center, where he’s being held on a $25,000 cash-only bond.
