ReadyOne Industries awarded $90 million in contracts, has 500 job openings

The Federal Government has awarded ReadyOne Industries more than $90 million in new contracts to produce “sophisticated military uniforms.”

In a news release, ReadyOne CEO and President Tom Ahmann said his company was awarded the contracts based on prior performance and government requirements.

“We were thrilled to receive the great news and will produce the uniforms over the next 12-18 months,” Ahmann said.

ReadyOne, located in Far East El Paso in the 11400 block of Pellicano, expects to have 500 job openings for both the non-profit and for-profit divisions. Job applicants can call 915-858-7277.

ReadyOne industries has made a remarkable recovery since its former president, Bob Jones, pleaded to guilty to defrauding the federal government out of hundreds of millions in contracts awarded to his company, known at the time as the National Center for the Employment of the Disabled (NCED).

In 2007, ReadyOne Industries sued Jones, claiming it had defrauded it of millions of dollars.
