Warm and sunny today, cooler Saturday

Scattered thunderstorms moved over northern Dona Ana overnight. These storms produced cloud to ground lightning and heavy rainfall. Moisture moves out of the region on Friday with much drier conditions. Some clouds will still linger, rain chances remain slim this afternoon. Occasional west winds will increase 10 to 20 mph but this shouldn’t impact any outdoor plans. Upper high over the Baja Peninsula and a dry upper trough will bring dry west flow with it. Sunny skies and warm temperatures remain on tap through Monday. Monday night a cool front will push west across the area, dropping high temperatures Tuesday 10 to 15 degrees from Monday. Wednesday and Thursday,thunderstorm chances return.
