EPPD: Teenager broke into home, threatened victims with machetes

The police department’s Gang Unit arrested and charged an El Paso man accused of breaking into a home and threatening a group of people with two machetes.

Jesus Alberto Escudero, 19, is charged with three counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon and a single count of Burglary of Habitation.

Police said the incident incident happened October 19, 2017 at a home on the 11800 block of Vere Leasure Drive.

Police said an investigation revealed Escudero went to the residence, kicked one of the doors open and then threatened three people using two machetes.

Detectives identified Escudero as the suspect and secured arrest warrants.

Escudero was arrested October 23, 2017 on the outstanding warrants. He was booked into the county jail on bonds totaling $142,000.
