Man arrested in connection to deadly home invasion, rape case involving 3 girls in Juarez
Investigators Wednesday arrested a suspect in connection to the rape of two girls and the killing of a third girl in Ciudad Juárez.
Local news media reported the suspect is Jose Elías Armijo Hernández.
The online newspaper puentelibre.mx captured the moment he was being taken into the headquarters of local police.
Mexican authorities said last week Armijo Hernández went inside a home through a door in Anapra, a neighborhood in the northern part of Juárez.
He allegedly raped and assaulted three sisters at night. Police said he strangled the eldest sister. The girls who survived were 10 and 11. The one who died was 12.
Investigators said they girls were alone because their parents work during the night.
The brothers of the victims reportedly found two of the girls inside their home. One of them unconscious.
The 12-year-old was found naked in the backyard.
The suspect was arrested Tuesday after authorities said someone called to report an attempted rape using a knife.
Officers were called out to the scene and caught Armijo Hernandez after he tried to escape.
Police said he matched the description of the man they were looking for in connection to the case of the three sisters.
