EPPD arrest two men in connection with a Craigslist robbery

Anthony Ochoa, 19, and Tevin Lynch, 25, were arrested and charged in connection with a robbery after they attempted to steal a cellphone from a woman who was selling the phone on Craigslist.

Ochoa and the victim both agreed to meet at an apartment complex in the 6800 block of Cielo Vista on November 25th. When the victim arrived at the apartment complex to exchange the phone with Ochoa, police say that Ochoa pulled out a pocketknife, took the cellphone, and fled the scene.

According to police, that same day the victim was able to locate the cellphone for sale on Offer Up, a mobile-only app that allows customers to sell items to buyers near them.

Lynch met up to sell the stolen cellphone the following day. After spotting Ochoa in the area, police conducted a traffic stop and were able to recover the stolen cellphone.

Ochoa was arrested for outstanding criminal warrants and charged with aggravated robbery in the Craigslist cell phone Robbery. Lynch was arrested and charged with theft over $100 and less than $750 for his part in the robbery.
