Flu vaccines available Wednesday

The El Paso Fire Department is urging El Pasoans who haven’t received the flu vaccine to participate in the Vaccinations for Health program. Vaccinations for Health provides free influenza, blood pressure and glucose screenings to patients 18 and older, and pneumonia vaccines to those 65 and older.

There are five clinic dates in January:

Wednesday, Jan. 3: EPFD Safety, Health Outreach Center, 5415 Trowbridge Dr., 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 10: EPFD Safety, Health Outreach Center, 5415 Trowbridge Dr., 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 17: Fire Station 17, 8803 Alameda Ave., 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 24: EPFD Safety, Health Outreach Center, 5415 Trowbridge Dr., 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

Wednesday, Jan. 31: EPFD Safety, Health Outreach Center, 5415 Trowbridge Dr., 1 p.m. – 5:30 p.m.

The service is free to residents of El Paso and Hudspeth County who are 18 and over and do not have medical insurance or are on Medicaid.

The EPFD is encouraging residents who meet these guidelines to take advantage of the program. The goal of the program is to increase the wellness of the community.

For more information, residents are encouraged to call 3-1-1.
