Mother, aunt arrested over baby found dead at Texas gas station

Police have arrested the mother and aunt of a weeks-old baby after the infant’s body was found at a North Texas gas station.

Hunt County jail records show 27-year-old Stephanie Leanne Flynn and 20-year-old Shawn Elise Flynn, both of Greenville, were being held Tuesday on evidence tampering charges. Bond was $50,000 apiece.

Greenville police Sgt. Adam Phillips says Stephanie Flynn is the mother of the girl whose body was discovered Monday at the gas station. Investigators say the baby may have died at the mother’s home and the corpse was moved.

No cause of death was immediately released. Phillips says autopsy results are pending on the girl born in November. He didn’t immediately provide a birth date.

Phillips had no information on attorneys to speak for the siblings.
