Police say man revealed handgun at Las Cruces store

Las Cruces police say a man entered a convenience store revealing a handgun and demanding money from the clerk at about 6 pm on Wednesday, December 20.

The clerk, working at the Valero located on 1305 El Paseo Rd., allegedly refused to comply with the suspect and the suspect fled in an unknown direction. According to police, the suspect was seen on surveillance cameras wearing a dark-colored Carhart hoodie and dark pants.

Police say the suspect is believed to be a 5-foot-10 white male with unkept facial hair.

Investigators are looking for help identifying the suspect and Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is awarding up to $1,000 for information that can help identify the suspect. Crime stoppers can be contacted at 1-800-222-8477.
