Woman connected to murder case charged with assault
A woman who is facing charges connected to the beating death of a man more than a year ago is now charged with assault in an unrelated case.
Erlinda Lujan is one of nine people who’s been charged in the murder of Anthony Trejo. His mutilated body was found in the desert in Oct. 2016.
Online court documents show that Lujan has been in the El Paso county jail since her arrest in Sept. 2016.
In July of 2017, court records show that she was charged with two counts of assault causing bodily injury. No details about the newest charges were given.
Court records also show that a judge was updated on her case involving the Trejo murder on Jan. 9 and will hear hold another hearing in April.
