Las Cruces man sentenced to 11 years in prison for meth trafficking
A Las Cruces man convicted of trafficking methamphetamine was sentenced to more than 11 years in prison Tuesday.
Joshua Nestle, 26, and Joclyn Telles, 35, also of Las Cruces, were arrested in February 2017.
According to a criminal complaint, the were men were charged with conspiracy and possession of a controlled substance (Methamphetamine) with intent to distribute.
The complaint further states Nestle and Telles commited the crimes on June 29, 2016. Officers arrested them on outstanding warrants following a traffic stop. After searching the vehicle, officers discovered 2.6 ounces of methamphetamine and a firearm.
On June 7, 2017, Nestle pled guilty to conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute, federal officials said.
While entering the guilty plea, Nestle admitted to violating federal drug trafficking laws, being possession of Methamphetamine, and possessing a controlled substance while he was incarcerated at the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
Telles was indicted on June 21, 2017 and charged with conspiracy and possession with the intent to distribute as well. She faces a minimum of five years and a maximum of 40 years in federal prison. Telles remains in custody waiting for her sentence hearing which is yet to be scheduled.
