SISD police charge student who allegedly made threat against El Dorado High
Police officers with the Socorro Independent School District’s police department arrested and charged a student with “generating a false alarm,” a district spokesperson confirmed.
The district official said the threat was made against El Dorado High School. SISD police officers arrested the student at his home, the district spokesperson said, adding the district has the authority to arrest a student off campus if it regards student safety.
Several of El Paso area high school campuses had extra security Friday. Officials with the El Paso and Ysleta school districts confirmed with ABC-7 that they are investigating threats to two different schools.
E.P.I.S.D. spokesman Gustavo Reveles said the district is investigating a threat made on social media to students at Burges High. The school district said it is taking the threat seriously.
Officials with the Ysleta Independent School District confirmed to ABC-7 that they are aware of the threat that was made to Ysleta High School and sent a call to parents Thursday night.
Y.I.S.D. officials told us they are working with local authorities to address the issue.
