Life-saving lessons: The Texas Two-Step CPR

Dozens gathered to learn life-saving techniques and to get free medical advice Saturday morning at Dolphin Terrace Elementary School.

The SUNS health fair ran was free and open to the public from 9 a.m. until noon in Northeast El Paso.

Blood pressure readings, blood sugar tests, EKGs, dental screening and more were offered to the public.

Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso medical students offered calsses in hands-only CPR.

During the five-minute training sessions, El Pasoans learned how to react quickly to cardiac emergencies in two steps: First, Call 911. and then initiate hands-only CPR

“Since heart disease is the number one killer of Americans, we knew it was important to help the medical students and our great partners bring this life-saving event to our communities again this year,” SAID STUDENT Kelcy Steffen.
