EPPD: Puppies thrown into dumpster; some died after exposure to chemicals

The police department’s Animal Cruelty unit is asking the public for help solving an animal cruelty case.

On Sunday, February 4, 2018, animal control officers responded to 7966 Esther, where seven Pit-Bull mix puppies were found abandoned in a dumpster behind the church. An employee at Life Water Church told ABC-7 they were throwing out the trash when they found the puppies.

An investigation revealed the puppies “had been covered with bleach and other chemicals,” police said, “as a result, three of the puppies died.”

The Animal Cruelty Unit is asking anybody with information about this case, or the individuals responsible, to contact them at 915-212-0800.

If you wish to remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers of El Paso, at 915.566.TIPS (8477).
