Hit-and-run crash seriously injures El Paso man

One man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash early Sunday morning on the east side of El Paso.

Police say 26-year-old Javier Rivera and 27-year-old Devin Miller were pushing a 1998 Chevrolet Camaro that had broken down on the 10700 block of Gateway East around 2:30 a.m.

According to the department, an unknown driver slammed into the Camaro while they were pushing it, seriously injuring Miller, who was rushed to Del Sol Medical Center. Rivera was not injured.

Police say the driver is likely driving a white Chevrolet pick-up truck, possibly “Avalanche” style. The vehicle likely has extensive front-end damage.

If you have any information on the driver or circumstances of the crash, please call the El Paso Police Department at 915-832-4400 or Crime Stoppers at 915-566-TIPS (8477).
