New Mexico State Police officer crashes while attempting to make traffic stop

A New Mexico State Police officer and a commercial motor vehicle were involved in a collision on I-10, near mile marker 105, at around 6 p.m. Sunday, officials say.

A spokeswoman with the NMSP said a semi-truck struck the officer’s unit as the officer was turning around to make a traffic stop.

The officer was not injured and the semi-driver sustained minor injuries.

The crash is still under investigation.
