Governor Martinez expected to send 250 troops to Mexico border

Governor Susana Martinez plans to send 250 New Mexico National Guard soldiers to the Mexican border, the Office of the Governor said Monday.

Eighty of the 250 soldiers are expected to report later this week.

New Mexico National Guard has identified operation personnel without affecting local law enforcement.

Texas and Arizona announced their plans to send National Guard troops last week.

Governor Greg Abbott said he will send up 1,000 Texas National Guard soldiers to the border, while Arizona announced it would send 338 troops.
