Chihuahuas hold off Reno for 3-2 win Wednesday night

The El Paso Chihuahuas improved to 9-5 on the season with a narrow 3-2 victory at Reno Wednesday night.

The Chihuahuas scored two runs in the fifth courtesy of a Stephen McGee RBI double and a Luis Urias RBI single to take the early lead.

El Paso got a Franmil Reyes RBI triple in the top of the eighth to go up 3-1 and then held off Reno’s late push to secure the 3-2 win.

Former Chihuahua Cody Decker recorded a double and a walk in his two plate appearances as a pinch hitter for Reno.

El Paso has taken both games of the series so far and now has a one-game lead over Salt Lake for first place in the PCL Pacific Southern Division.

The Chihuahuas will play two more games at Reno before beginning a new series at Las Vegas on Saturday.
