Borderland cities rank low on summer job list
Wallethub.com compared 182 of the most populated cities to see the best places to get a summer job, and although the borderland made the list, it is not at the top.
El Paso barely made it at number 181 and our neighboring city, Las Cruces, ranked 177. While Scottsdale, Arizona is reportedly the best place to get a summer job.
Minimum-wage laws and local costs determine how much you earn, and consequently what you will be able to afford in terms of housing, transportation, and social activities.
Where you look for a job matters just as much as what you’re looking to do: Jobs that pay well in one city may not pay the same in others.
