Fort Bliss commanding general to serve at US European Command in Germany

The Army has announced the next assignment for the commanding general of Fort Bliss and the 1st Armored Division.

Major General Robert “Pat” White will soon transfer to the U.S. European Command in Germany, where he will serve as the director of operations.

The Army did not announce a date for White to take his new job.

He assumed command of the 1st Armored Division and Fort Bliss in June 2016.

During his time at Fort Bliss, he led the division headquarters on a deployment to Iraq.

White’s new assignment was one of 16 general officer assignments announced by the Army Friday.
