18-wheeler carrying powdered milk stalled on Executive Center on-ramp
A stalled 18-wheeler closed the eastbound on-ramp to Interstate 10 from Executive Center Blvd., the exit also remains closed.
The semi, owned by Haul-Line, Inc., hit a part of a concrete barrier at about 4:00 a.m. Tuesday.
Haul-Line president Ricardo Gomez confirmed the truck was making a right hand turn to get onto the freeway on-ramp. The concrete barrier surrounds a construction site.
Gomez said the impact broke the undercarriage of the semi, making the truck immobile.
Black scuff marks could be seen on the concrete barrier and one of the tires was partially removed from its rim.
The semi was carrying 30,000 lbs. of powdered milk.
A second semi arrived at the scene to pick up the powdered milk to get it delivered. A forklift was also requested to unload the stalled semi.
Gomez said a tow truck would then remove the trailer from the scene.
Police crews are on the scene diverting traffic from the area, which could be closed until at least 10 a.m.
