Three-star quarterback T.J. Goodwin verbally commits to UTEP
The UTEP football team got some more good news on the recruiting trail Thursday.
Just two days after Parkland running back Deion Hankins announced he planned to attend UTEP, the Miners snagged another commitment many believed they couldn’t get.
Three-star quarterback T.J. Goodwin from Cypress Falls High School in Houston announced he plans to join the Miners next season.
Goodwin is listed at 6-foot-5 and 195 pounds, according to his Hudl account. He also says he runs a 4.8 second 40-yard dash.
The quarterback told Rivals.com Thursday that UTEP simply made the best pitch to him.
“The only school that made me feel like I was needed instead of just being a valuable asset was UTEP,” said Goodwin.
He also stated that UTEP coaches told him they hoped to one day make him “the face of the program.”
