EPPD: Man dies after being rolled over by his own vehicle
The El Paso Police Department said a man who died in a crash Thursday was run over by his own vehicle.
The crash involving three vehicles happened on the 500 block of Americas Avenue in the Lower Valley.
The police preliminary investigation showed that Robert Giesbrecht, 48, ran a red light at Americas and Pan American, colliding with a Honda Civic that was crossing through the intersection.
Giesbrecht was ejected from his Nissan Rogue. The Nissan continued to roll, ultimately running over Giesbrecht and also hitting another vehicle before coming to a stop.
Giesbrecht died at the scene.
No one else was hurt.
