Suspected ATV thief burns down building in an attempt to conceal his theft

Police say a man is wanted for stealing multiple all terrain vehicles (ATVs) and a motorcycle from Viva Power Sports. The business is located at 1045 Magruder in Central El Paso.

After allegedly stealing five vehicles, police say the suspect noticed security cameras on a neighboring business and set the building on fire in attempt to destroy the footage.

The five vehicles reportedly stolen are a 2018, Red, Polaris ATV; a 2018, White, Yamaha Quad ATV; a 2018, Blue, Yamaha Quad ATV; a 2016, Yellow, Polaris ATV; a 2015, Black, BMW motorcycle.

Police say the suspect cut through a chain linked fence to gain access to the vehicles. He reportedly drove off with the vehicles in the early morning hours of Monday, July 23rd 2018 in a white, Ford F-250.

Investigators believe the man is also responsible for thefts at Santa Teresa Motorsports and Las Cruces Motorsports.
