Chihuahuas beat Albuquerque 14-2 Thursday for 9th win in a row

The Chihuahuas continued to roll Thursday night, blasting the Albuquerque Isotopes by a final of 14-2 to claim their ninth consecutive win.

The Dogs have now also won 16 games in a row at Southwest University Park.

The win moved the Chihuahuas to 24 games above .500 at 76-52. The team has won 18 of its 21 games so far in the month of August.

The Isotopes fell to 59-70 with the loss and had previously been eliminated from playoff contention.

Dusty Coleman had a monster game for El Paso Thursday night, going 3-5 with a home run and five RBI.

Shane Peterson also went 3-5 for the Dogs with a double, two singles, one RBI, and two runs scored.

The Chihuahuas will play their next seven games on the road including four at Tacoma and three at Fresno, so it’s very likely the Dogs will clinch the division title away from home.
