ABC-7 Xtra: School threats in El Paso causing major safety concerns
A couple of threats to El Paso schools this week caused some major safety concerns around the community.
On Wednesday, ABC-7 broke the story of an 18-year-old man who allegedly posted a threat on a social media account.
El Paso’s FBI department said, Dallas Carrera, posted a picture of a box full of empty assault rifle magazines with the caption “Don’t come to school tomorrow.”
He remains in federal custody.
And on Friday, Eastlake High School issued a lockdown after school officials said the administration had received “reports of a threatening message posted on social media.”
According to the Socorro Independent School District, police quickly identified and located the student who posted the message.
Police warn anyone who comes across a school threat on social media to not share it. Instead to inform police about any possible threats.
