EPPD: Suspects stole generator, tools from open pickup bed
Police arrested a man and a woman accused of stealing a generator and other tools from the open bed of a pickup.
Abraham F. Camarena, 37, is charged with theft and Mindy Leann Lunsford, 32, is charged with Burglary of a Vehicle.
On Friday, August 24, 2018, officers from the Pebble Hills Regional Command Center responded to the burglary of a vehicle in the 4600 block of Beacham.
Police said the investigation revealed individuals had removed a generator and other tools from the open bed of a pickup truck.
Investigators with the Tactical Unit identified Camarena and Lunsford as the individuals allegedly responsible for the burglary.
Camarena, who police said has two previous theft convictions, was jailed on a $5,200 bond. Lunsford was jailed on a $4,000 bond.
The generator and several tools have been recovered, police said, adding the investigation continues and additional charges are anticipated.
Police encourage all El Pasoans to remove belongings from their vehicles and secure them. If you own a pickup truck and keep items in the open bed of the truck, always secure those items prior to leaving the vehicle.
