Third case of West Nile Virus in El Paso
The El Paso Department of Public Health confirmed a third case of West Nile virus.
Officials said on Thursday that a woman who lives in the Mission Valley tested positive.
She has underlying medical conditions but is recovering from the infection, said health department officials.
They are asking everyone to be extra careful this Labor Day weekend since people typically spend more time outside.
To protect yourself from mosquitoes be sure to use repellent, wear long sleeves, long pants and socks while outdoors and avoid being outside during dusk and dawn when bites are more common.
Officials also urge property owners to get rid of standing water.
