Chapin volleyball team continues dominance with win over Burges

The Chapin volleyball team showed Tuesday night why they are ranked fourth in the state in 5A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association.

The Huskies defeated district rival Burges in straight sets to move to 12-0 in District 1-5A and extend their overall winning streak to 20 games.

Though Burges put up a tough fight, the Huskies were able to win each set comfortably, taking each set by at least five points (25-14, 25-16, 25-20).

The Huskies, 26-5 overall, are the only team to defeat Burges so far this season in district play. They’ve now won twice against the Mustangs, including a victory on the road on Sept. 7.

Burges is now 11-2 in district play and will meet Irvin on Friday while Chapin travels to Andress the same day.

The Huskies are now four wins away from completing a perfect regular season in district play.
