EPPD SWAT team involved in standoff after shots fired in West El Paso

The El Paso Police Department confirmed a SWAT situation in west El Paso.

They were called out Tuesday morning to the 5400 block of Ridge Street where a person is “locked inside the residence,” according to EPPD.

Police said there were was an initial report of shots fired.

An ABC-7 photographer said surrounding streets are closed off by police units.

EPPD has not released further information.

A police spokesman is expected to release information from the scene.
