UTEP Basketball beats Northwestern State

The UTEP Miner basketball team has had a rough go at it losing their last two games. Last night they were hoping to bounce back.
The UTEP Miners took on the Demons of Northwestern State.
Opening seconds of the game, Evan Gillyard with the ball, dribbles up and lays it in with the left.
Efie Odigie gets in the mix, Gillyard feeds him in the post and the Miners are now up four.
Later in the first half, the Demons lose the handle on the ball and Jordan Lathon picks it up for the slam!!!
We will pick it up in the second half. The Demons Larry Owens will dribble through a couple Miners made it 44 to 25 UTEP.
Lathon had 16 in the game. Here he is taking the feed from Kobe Magee, He would dribble up then pull back for the jumper.
The Miners had good ball movement. Lathom would penetrate then kick it out to Magee who would swing it over to Nigel Hawkens would drain the two.
The Miners record is now three and four. UTEP had four players in double digits as they win 77 to 47.
The Miners play a tough Marquette team this Tuesday in Milwakee.

Coach Terry said this about the game, “We knew going into this game it wasn’t going that we needed to get busy and play as hard as we can ask them to play on both ends.”

This is what senior Paul Thomas had to say about the win, “It was a good tune up game for Marquette we need to get rolling.and uh execute on offense.”
