NMSU falls short of pulling upset against No. 2 Kansas

The New Mexico State men’s basketball team fell to No. 2 Kansas 63-60 Saturday night in Kansas City.

The Aggies held a 28-26 lead at the half and led for most of the second period, before the Jayhawks closed the game on a 12-7 run in the final five minutes.

NMSU was led by guard Jojo Zamora with 15 points and forward Ivan Aurrecoechea, who finished with 14 points.

The Aggies went 3-of-10 from the free throw line.

NMSU fell to 7-2 on the season and face Northern Colorado December 17 in Las Cruces.

Kansas continued its unbeaten season and improved to 6-0 on the season.
