Fort Bliss soldier accused in deadly Northeast stabbing
Detectives with the El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons Unit charged a 22-year-old Fort Bliss soldier with murder after a deadly stabbing attack in Northeast El Paso.
Police said Torian A. Davis was arrested for the stabbing death of a 25-year-old woman at an apartment unit at 4649 Loma Del Sur. Police have not yet identified the woman.
Davis was released from the hospital on December 26, 2018 and booked into the county jail on charges of Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon and Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.
The stabbing happened at about 12:25 a.m. on Saturday, December 22, 2018.
Police officers responded to a stabbing call and found the three assault victims and Davis, the suspect.
An investigation allegedly revealed Davis stabbed two other men at the scene. The victims were identified by police as 21-year-old Anthony Velasco and 23-year-old Jared Abes.
Davis and the female victim were allegedly inside an apartment consuming alcoholic beverages and drugs, police said.
“Without any provocation, Davis slashed Velasco’s throat and then stabbed the female victim,” police said.
Abes had just parked his car in the parking lot when Davis went outside and randomly pummeled him, police said.
The three victims were transported to University Medical Center, where the female victim later died.
Abes is in the intensive care unit and Velasco was released after being treated. Davis was admitted into a hospital for a medical condition following his arrest.
Fort Bliss confirmed Davis, Abes and Velasco are all soldiers stationed on post.
