El Paso football fans pack local bars during game day

Northeast El Paso saw a cluster of red and navy blue. East El Paso attracted a sea of blue and gold.

“The rams are going to win,” said Rudy Ortiz at about 5 p.m. “Absolutely!”

Glenn Rivero proudly displayed a Rams tattoo on his calf during the fan club’s watch party at 1810 Taqueria and Borracheria.

“To have a chance to win a world title, we’re pretty excited!” Rivero said.

Twenty five minutes to the north, Patriots fans made a temporary home at Three Pints Pub, where fans were calm and confident that they would win

“The energy is awesome,” said Carla Ramirez, a diehard Patriots fan. “Everybody’s here. They yell, they cheer. It’s just awesome.​”

As the night stretched on, the Patriots finally made a touchdown, giving the team its sixth Super Bowl title.

Their win attracted both boos and cheers.

“All my friends have picked on me for the last twenty years, so I’m used to it,” said Felipe Ybarra, the owner of Brass Monkey in West El Paso.
