UTEP goes head to head with Southern Miss

UTEP was looking for their first road win of the season up in Hattiesburg.

The game started innocently enough with Jordan Lathon hitting a 3 putting the Miners up one.

That wouldn’t last, as Southern Miss went on a 21 to 1 and a 10 to 1 run.

At half time the Golden Eagles would be winning 54 to 12.

In the second half UTEP gave a better effort, but not by much.

It seems like Coach Rodney Terry was getting players some time they may not have received in a tighter game.

Giles Dekonick had 11 points with 17 minutes of play.

Coach Terry said, “Its not like a light switch you can turn on and you can turn off.”

The Miners lose 77 to 47.
