EPPD: Man robbed 7-Eleven clerk at knife-point, led officers on car chase

The man who robbed an East El Paso 7-Eleven clerk at knife-point led police officers on a car chase and was eventually arrested in Far East El Paso, police said.

Juan Gabriel Mojica-Sandoval, 44, is charged with Aggravated Robbery, Evading Arrest in a Vehicle and Failure to Identify.

At about 11:20 a.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019, Mojica-Sandoval entered the 7-Eleven convenience store at 3101 N. Yarbrough and allegedly threatened the store clerk with a knife, police said.

Mojica-Sandoval allegedly demanded money and fled the store with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Police officers located Mojica-Sandoval in a black Cadillac at Joe Battle and Pebble Hills, where he allegedly fled from officers.

The man was later located on foot at Saul Kleinfeld and Montana, where he was arrested at 2:17 p.m. Monday.

No too far away, police located the black Cadillac and evidence allegedly linking Mojica-Sandoval to the 7-Eleven robbery.

The man was jailed on bonds totaling $65,000.
