UPDATE: I-10 East at Downtown reopened following early morning traffic fatality
UPDATE: All lanes on I-10 East near downtown are now open after being shut down for more than eight hours due to a traffic fatality.

One person died in a traffic incident on I-10 East early Thursday morning, according to El Paso police.
Authorities have not said if it was a crash or a pedestrian who was hit, but that one man is in custody.
ABC-7 saw officers conduct a field sobriety test on a man near the scene, then arrest him. It is unclear if that man is the suspect in custody.
Police said the person was killed at 1:40 a.m.
I-10 East is closed to traffic. Authorities are making vehicles use the downtown exit.
Drivers can use Missouri, Wyoming, Mesa, Paisano or Montana to avoid the area.
