Trial for man accused of killing former KLAQ DJ begins Thursday

The trial for Leonel Hernandez, the man accused of killing former KLAQ DJ Richard “Mardi Gras” Madrigal begins on Thursday.

Hernandez is facing murder charges for allegedly shooting and killing Madrigal in June of 2016.

Madrigal was working as a convention sales manager for Destination El Paso when he was killed.

Before that he worked as a radio DJ.

A pre-trial meeting was held on Tuesday, and jury selection was on Wednesday.
