Couple suspected of stealing $5,000 in cell phones from Walmart

Investigators in Las Cruces are asking the public for help identifying a man and woman suspected of shoplifting an estimated $5,000 worth of cell phones from a Walmart store in December.

The alleged theft took place at the Walmart Supercenter at 1550 S. Valley Drive about 3 a.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018.

Investigators believe the couple stole six cell phones by placing them in a larger box and then leaving the store without paying for the items.

Walmart surveillance cameras captured images of the couple, a young man and woman, as they entered and exited the store.

The couple is believed to have left the store parking lot in a dark colored vehicle, possibly a red Ford Taurus.

Las Cruces Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information that helps identify the suspects.

Anyone with information that can help identify either one, or both, suspects is asked to call Las Cruces Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

Tips can also be provided through the Las Cruces Crime Stoppers app, “P3 TIPS.” The app is available through the App Store on most devices.

Those who provide tips through Crime Stoppers do not have to leave their own name and can remain completely anonymous.
