EPPD: Man with outstanding DWI warrant was driving drunk and speeding
Police officers arrested and charged an El Paso man with “Driving While Intoxicated 3rd or More” late Thursday night.
Police say 42-year-old Joel Lucas Jr. was driving a 1995 Ford Mustang south on the 1400 block of Zaragoza.
Lucas Jr. was allegedly speeding at 57 miles per hour in a posted 45 mile per hour zone, police said.
Police pulled Lucas Jr. over and officers learned he was intoxicated, police said.
An investigation revealed Lucas had four previous convictions for DWI-related offenses,
Lucas was also found to have and outstanding Failure to Appear Warrant issued out of New Mexico for DWI.
He was booked into the El Paso County Jail on a bond of $75,000.
