Locomotive Football Club prepares for public debut

The El Paso Locomotive Football Club is expecting a sell out crowd of over 8,000 fans for its Saturday night debut against the Oklahoma City Energy.

The team has national, international and local players including 3 life long El Paso residents.

“There is a lot of culture and diversity on this team and we think that is actually a big positive for us” said Locomotive FC General Manager Andrew Forrest. “A lot of the guys do speak English but we also have people on our staff who speak Spanish but most importantly everyone speaks the same language of soccer when they are on the field together.”

The team is hoping to get off to a fast start after just 6 weeks of practice and time to come together as a team.

“These guys really like each other and we are already putting together a solid system for success,” said Andrew Forrest.

Soccer fans will have some unique views of the game as the Locomotive will be playing on a home field that doubles as a baseball facility and puts fans in a diamond shape rather than the more traditional square seating of a soccer pitch.

However, team officials says that’s just another unique positive for a franchise and a fan base that is eager to being writing it’s own history on the field.
