Jaguar attacks woman trying to take a selfie at Arizona Zoo

A woman was attacked by a Jaguar at The Wildlife World Zoo Aquarium & Safari Park in Arizona. According to the Wildlife Park, The attack happened at the zoo in Litchfield Park.

Rural Metro Fire Crews responded to the scene according to the crews, a woman in her 30’s was trying to take a selfie by the fence of a Jaguar enclosure, when the Jaguar attacked her. According to first responders, the Jaguar reached out and attacked her arm.

According to officials, the woman did not have life-threatening injuries.

The Safari Park says the female jaguar will not be euthanized.

The attack immediately sparked comments on social media about the fate of the Jaguar. Many people were concerned that the Jaguar would be euthanized.

Employees of the Zoo called 911 after the attack. The woman was taken to the hospital.

In a statement, the zoo said witnesses reported the woman had crossed a fence to take the picture.

“Please understand why barriers are put in place,” the zoo tweeted.

The incident is under investigation.
