NMSU Mens Basketball team battle the GCU Lopes for the WAC Title

The NMSU Aggies were looking to go dancing. The only problem, UTRGV were also eyeing a tournament spot.

This would be the ninth WAC title if New Mexico State could seal the deal.

GCU would start fast going up 10-2 in the first couple of minutes.

At the nine and half minute mark the Aggies though would tie the game at 21 with a CJ Bobbit lay up.

The lead would change though when the man of the night, Trevelin Queen hit a three that was assisted by AJ Harris.

Queen would catch fire in the first half and not stop until the last couple minutes of the game.

Finishing with a career high 27 points.

At the end of the first half the Aggies would take an 11 point lead into the locker room.

In the second half NMSU kept their foot on the gas!

With 6 minutes left in the game Clayton Henry would hit a three that put New Mexico State up 29 points!

The Aggies wouldn’t look back as they won it 89 to 57.

There will be a selection viewing party from 4 to 5PM Sunday in the Barbara Hubbard room on campus.
