Raging fire burns 4 mobile homes near Las Cruces; ATF investigating cause
A fire raged through a Las Cruces-area mobile home park late Wednesday afternoon, burning four units.
Over 30 firefighters battled the blaze in the St. John’s mobile home park along El Camino Real, just north of the city.
There were no injuries and it remained unknown what sparked the fire. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms was at the scene investigating the cause.
Authorities said the fire began in an empty mobile home and spread to three others, two of which were occupied. The pair of displaced families were being cared for by the American Red Cross.
