Las Cruces man arrested for allegedly making child pornography, had photos of local girls
A Las Cruces man was arrested Friday on child pornography charges after authorities said they found evidence on cell phones and tablets suggesting he had been taking photos of local girls.
Raymond Pacheco, 28, was arrested following a search of his residence in the Las Brisas Mobile Home Park by local and state police.
“Upon forensic analysis of the electronic devices recovered, investigators found an email account with numerous sexually explicit images of children under the age of 18,” said Las Cruces police spokesman Dan Trujillo. “Investigators also found several images of girls that are believed to have been photographed locally. The local photos are not sexually explicit but appear to be taken without the knowledge of the girls.”
Pacheco is charged with five counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Four of the counts are second-degree felonies for manufacturing sexually explicit material, while one count is a fourth-degree felony for possession.
He was being held Friday afternoon without bond in the Dona Ana County Detention Center.
Las Cruces police asked anyone with information about possible victims to contact them at (575) 526-0795.
