Accused Las Cruces child pornographer ordered held without bond until trial
A Las Cruces man charged with multiple counts of making and possessing child pornography was ordered held without bond Wednesday afternoon until his trial. Judge Douglas Driggers granted a prosecution motion to deny bond to Raymond Pacheco, who was arrested last week following a police search of his residence at the Las Brisas Mobile Home Park.
Authorities said they found “numerous sexually explicit images of children” on cell phones and computer tablets belonging to Pacheco. Investigators expressed concern that some of the images of underage girls they found were “believed to have been photographed locally.”
Residents of the trailer park where Pacheco lived had expressed shock at their neighbor’s arrest, calling it very disturbing given that numerous children live in the complex.
Pacheco is facing five counts of sexual exploitation of a child. Four of the counts are second-degree felonies for manufacturing sexually explicit material, while one count is a fourth-degree felony for possession.
