El Paso women small business owners can get help obtaining a loan to grow their business
A national foundation dedicated to helping women small business owners obtain loans to grow their business is aiding businesses in El Paso.
Through PeopleFund, a Texas-based Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), the Tory Burch Foundation and Bank of America are proud to help women small business owners and entrepreneurs grow their businesses as they make history every day, including in El Paso.
In March, Bank of America announced the doubling of its commitment to the Tory Burch Foundation Capital Program, bringing the total to $100 million. The Foundation is dedicated to helping women small business owners to affordable loans to help grow their businesses. Since the inception of the program in 2014, PeopleFund has distributed more than $6.5 million in loans to women business owners across Texas, including El Paso entrepreneur Adriana Wilcox, owner of local One Grub Community.
One Grub Community’s goal is to provide 100 percent plant-based food to customers in a pay-it-forward model, and donations from meal checks directly benefit citizens of El Paso in need. The pay-it-forward program serves an average of 150 meals monthly. Some receiving local shelters have been Villa Maria, Annunciation House and Opportunity Center for the Homeless. More recently, in partnership with the Salvation Army, OGC had the opportunity to feed 100 first responders from the recent El Paso mass shooting tragedy. Adriana has been able to meet the community’s needs and grow her business, thanks in part to affordable interest rates available through PeopleFund and the Tory Burch Foundation Capital Program.
